About This Route
The Marangu Route is the oldest and most established route on Kilimanjaro, often called the 'Coca-Cola Route' due to its popularity and relative comfort. It's the only route that offers sleeping huts instead of camping, making it attractive to those who prefer not to sleep in tents. The route approaches Kilimanjaro from the southeast and is considered one of the easier routes, though this can be misleading as the success rate is actually lower due to the shorter acclimatization period.
